Why does Sam Brownback blame everyone but himself for his failed fiscal experiment? And is there anyone in the Legislature with the backbone to do what really has to be done? Stop the madness.

Starve rural and mental hospitals of funds to pay for upgrades, maintenance and proper staffing, and the members of the Kansas Senate Ways and Means Committee can sell these hospitals to their major contributors at fire-sale prices.

Legislators: Let us vote on having slot machines at the Wichita Greyhound Park. House Bill 2537 would bring 4,400 new jobs to Kansas and 500 locally. We want the jobs and the revenue.

Sens. Jerry Moran and Pat Roberts can either approve Obama’s 63-year-old moderate for the Supreme Court, or wait for President Hillary Clinton to nominate a 40-year-old liberal. Seems to me like Obama is offering a gift and the GOP refuses to take it.
