More opponents than supporters of Trump, Clinton
It’s a bad sign when more people want to vote against you than for you, but that’s the case for the leading Republican and Democratic presidential candidates. According to a Rasmussen Reports survey, 49 percent of likely voters say they will definitely vote against Donald Trump if he is the GOP presidential nominee while 30 percent say they will definitely vote for him. Meanwhile, 42 percent of those surveyed say they will definitely vote against Hillary Clinton if she is the Democratic nominee while 36 percent will definitely vote for her. A new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll had even worse findings, with two-thirds of registered voters saying they couldn’t see themselves supporting Trump, and 56 percent saying they couldn’t cast a ballot for Clinton. – Phillip Brownlee
