Opinion Line Extra (Jan. 15)

Let’s have the Federal Reserve Open Market Committee meet once a week to determine the level of the Dow Jones industrial average. After all, it is already doing so indirectly by controlling interest rates, penalizing savers and pumping up the Dow.

If vital information is to be obtained from captured radical Islamic jihadists, don’t waterboard or interrogate them at Gitmo. Just make them watch Obama play golf or shoot free throws. Then the “oral diarrhea” will begin.

I see that we are now going to get two free years of community college so we will be well-educated. Duh. Come on, people, nothing is free except nature, the sun, the rain, etc. Everything else has a cost that someone has to pay.

The city raises water rates to help with the need for water in the future and then, with its wisdom, wants to waste water with a splash park. This just makes perfect sense for the type of city leaders in place.
