Opinion Line Extra (March 10)

Voters should decide whether they want a successful executive or a practicing politician as president.

John Kasich is the only sane Republican in the presidential race.

Donald Trump is right: Ted Cruz is a world-class liar. He’ll say anything to get elected. Need proof? Just ask Cruz himself if he’s a liar. He’ll say “no.”

I bet the most popular class at Trump University was “Introduction to Bankruptcy.”

I can’t wait to read columnists Leonard Pitts and Davis Merritt after Donald Trump is elected. I’m sure their rantings and ravings will be just as entertaining.

I broke a long-standing personal rule and watched about two minutes of a debate with Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders – the two best reasons to vote for a Republican, any Republican. If that’s the best we can do, the country is done.

It may be true that Democrats are not all socialists, but I would give odds that most all American socialists are Democrats.

I do know my American history, thank you very much, and I know what socialism is and what the modern Democrat is. The only difference between socialists and today’s Democrats is that Democrats actually believe there’s a difference.

Why can’t Apple just open the phone and give a transcript of what’s on it to the FBI, and everybody should be happy? Then on to the next awful issue.

You will know the conservatives’ dream of privatization is finally working when the rich, such as Charles Koch, begin sending their tax collectors to your homes as they carve out their own privately run serfdoms.

Maybe the state keeps missing its revenue projections because those calculating the estimates don’t know what they’re doing. Being wrong once is excusable, twice is upsetting, but every time shows their ineptitude. And that is tragic, as the ill-informed governor is going to bankrupt Kansas.

All Republican college students should write Gov. Sam Brownback and tell him they’ll gladly pay their taxes and higher tuition so business owners can keep paying no income taxes.

Again with the welfare madness. All city and state employees, including Brownback, are technically on welfare. Their living comes from taxpayers. That’s welfare. Let’s get all these government types off of welfare. Anybody want to hire one? Thought not.

I’m all for raising the speed limit. However, those who insist on talking or texting on a phone shouldn’t be allowed on high-speed roads, and fines should be increased for phone use on city streets and secondary highways to make it sting, or to get these fools off the road.
