Opinion Line Extra (March 4)

Bernie Sanders’ “revolution” will result in monetary destruction of the middle class and all retirees, all to become dependent on government.


Lies and mudslinging – is this how the Republican presidential candidates expect us to appreciate their behavior? But what do you expect, with Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck being the spokesmen for the GOP? They’ve done this crap for years.


To the letter writer who received birthday greetings two months late from the White House: Just be glad you received a card delivered by a soon-to-be-extinct neighborhood mailman. President Trump will just order the post offices closed and say to everyone, “Are you stupid? Use e-mail.”


Who cares what Donald Trump is worth? I don’t care. I wonder about sports stars. What do they do with all their millions? And they want more.


Since the 1970s, oil producers have colluded to gouge consumers by capping supply. Recently their greed has gotten the better of them. Each wants a bigger slice of the pie, but they forgot that supply and demand economics is a real phenomenon. Consumers now must realize that low demand equals low prices.


Sen. Jerry Moran is all over Kansas getting input from the citizens. Sen. Pat Roberts stays in Washington in his fancy office and is rarely seen in Kansas.


Great news from the Kansas Division of the Budget website: “As a cost-saving measure, the Governor’s Economic and Demographic Report is no longer published.” My spouse suggests that the governor may be hiding this report in a place where the sun doesn’t shine in Kansas.


Could The Eagle please stop featuring Sam Brownback commentaries about “commonsense” anything (Feb. 28 Opinion)? The governor only has 21 percent of Kansans behind him, and the educated newspaper readers are not in that 21 percent group, I can assure you. We are sick of him.


It sure is fun to try to read The Eagle online (Kansas.com) when they keep placing and removing pictures above where you are reading, sending the text in front of you flying up or down without warning or rationale.


The Los Angeles Lakers said they are open to ads on their jerseys. What? Who do they think they are? NASCAR?


Fill a bucket up with water, then put in a bunch of ice, then mark the water level. After the ice melts, notice the water level. It didn’t change. Well, what do you know?
