Ever notice that Ted Cruz has an uncanny resemblance to Joseph McCarthy?


Hillary Clinton is one of the most qualified people to run for president in the history of this country.


Even if Hillary Clinton were not an accused liar, perhaps even a lawbreaker (though with a lawyer’s deft touch for “plausible deniability”), she will never be elected president. Reason: She is utterly unlikable. Barking like a dog notwithstanding, she is done.


You know what I fear? Donald Trump, as president, responding to an abusive remark – real or imagined – from some nutcase like Kim Jong Un.


To all those youngsters who are fascinated by socialist Bernie Sanders: Spend some time in such communist/socialist countries as North Korea, Vietnam, Venezuela or Cuba. Then see if you still support him.


The only reason Republicans passed balanced budgets in the late 1990s was that President Clinton used his veto power to force them to do so. Once Clinton was gone, Republicans went back to their old ways of running up massive deficits and blaming Democrats.


The woman in the White House is called the first lady. That means all the other women are second-class citizens. Stand up for your right, ladies.


Social Security has paid out every dollar it’s ever owed for 81 years, and it’s solvent for another 100 years – if the rich pay into it at the same rate the poor and middle class do.


If, after seven years of failure by the communist-in-chief, we have to explain why we don’t like him, then you’re just not listening, and you don’t want to listen, and talking to you is useless.


So a Kansas House majority hoped to amend the U.S. Constitution. Well, if the House contained men of the wisdom and stature of Franklin, Hamilton and Washington, I’d say, “Have at it.” Unfortunately, our House seems to be filled with the likes of Elmer Fudd, Daffy Duck and Foghorn Leghorn.


Those calling for amending the U.S. Constitution should first look at the misuse of the Kansas Constitution by the current administration.


Our great governor and Legislature ended the double taxation of “pass-through” income to business owners, which was always immoral. Now it’s time to end the equally immoral double taxation of corporate dividends to shareholders.


So you think it’s worth destroying our environment so a few people can have jobs? Well, then by all means vote Republican.


With toilet paper getting ever more expensive, I might have to stop using it. This gives me two options: use the newspaper, or study more closely how my cat is able to use the litter box without it.


Bicycling is supposed to be for exercise. Why would a bicyclist want synchronized traffic lights that he can cruise through?
