Opinion Line Extra (Feb. 23)

President Obama cannot find time to attend Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia’s funeral, but has announced that he is heading to Cuba next month for a visit. One must have his priorities, and his no longer surprise me.

Why does Fox News constantly refer to President Obama as Barack Hussein Obama, and yet does not use “Ted” Cruz’s real full name: Rafael Edward Cruz? Watch out, Fox – your bias and lack of balance are showing.

It’s too bad “Howdy Doody” is no longer on TV. Obama could visit there and feel right at home.

Talk about buying an election. Mark Cuban says he would consider being Donald Trump’s running mate. Pretty soon you will have to be a billionaire to run. Come on, Americans – let’s not sell ourselves short.

When Trump comes on, I switch over to “Gilligan’s Island,” where at least some intelligence is still spoken.

Common consensus: No more Clintons and no more Bushes.

It seems to me that North Korea’s Kim Jong Un and Hillary Clinton have the same tailor.

I do not understand why all the Republicans want to wait for Hillary to nominate the next Supreme Court justice.

Remember how aghast we all were when the radical Muslims took over Afghanistan? When will people wake up and realize that radical Christians are doing much the same in Kansas?

Americans are obsessed with the fetus, but couldn’t care less after they are born.

I hope all the Republican parents who have children in Advanced Placement classes and the International Baccalaureate program are happy that some of the people they elected want to do away with both programs.

Now some of the Republicans want to eliminate the AP and IB school programs because of Common Core. These are the most rigorous programs for our brightest children. Please, people – our children are suffering due to Republican ideology.

If today’s teacher does not know right from wrong by now, they need to call Saul and sue the college they received their education from.

Instead of blaming the Kansas Supreme Court, perhaps “Sunshine Sam” Brownback and his minions should look into a mirror to see who really is to blame.

When people complain about rising sea levels, do they ever consider all the rivers, including the mighty Mississippi, that drain into the Gulf? How many billions of water daily flow into the Gulf from those rivers?

When I was a youngster, I suffered at the hands of bullies. I lost my fear of them when I realized they are all insecure cowards. No bully ever picks on someone who would threaten him, and seldom alone. They thrive on being part of a group.
