Same-sex marriage issue not over for Kansas GOP

Same-sex marriage would appear to be a decided issue, given the U.S. Supreme Court ruling last year – but apparently not within the Kansas Republican Party. Rep. Mark Kahrs, R-Wichita, was chosen at the state GOP convention last weekend to serve as a Republican National Committee member, promising to represent “the Christian Coalition values that the state of Kansas represents.” Kahrs said: “I will fight vigorously for our pro-life plank, and I will fight vigorously for the sanctity of marriage at the national level.” – Phillip Brownlee
