For those of us who work on Columbus, Martin Luther King Jr. and Presidents days: I am starting to think we are the public servants, instead of the other way around.

Will the Wichita school district please publish a calendar showing the days that kids are actually in school? I’ve never seen a time in which whenever there is a holiday, the schools are closed the day before and the day after.

I would like to see a reality show with an obviously religious person, a gay couple, a black separatist, an obvious conservative, a liberal and a KKK member all getting along and showing the world how it’s done.

Gov. Sam Brownback’s policies are directly and adversely affecting our food purchases, education system, the environment, voting rights, pensions, tax deductions, access to health care, cultural opportunities and utility bills. He is not working for the common good.

How to fix Kansas’ revenue woes: Rescind the state income tax breaks for the 330,000. Restore the per-pupil school funding formula. Problem solved.

I don’t think any human should be president if all they have is a husband or a wife, and just kids, but no cat or dog.

Obama is going to Cuba next month. With any luck, he’ll stay there with his Castro brothers.

The least Obama could do was wait until Justice Antonin Scalia’s remains were cold before he talked about making a nomination to replace him. Shame.

The president would be remiss in his constitutional responsibilities if he did not nominate a new member to the Supreme Court. Candidates who do not agree with him don’t seem to understand or care about such responsibilities.

We do not need another liberal on the Supreme Court. Republican senators: Do not cave in for a change.

The last thing I want to see is yet another radical left-wing activist appointed to the Supreme Court. However, senators need to buck up and do their jobs. Don’t stall or put it off; hold nomination hearings and vote “no.”

Who are these drivers who think just because they have a handicap placard or tag they can park in the handicap van-only spaces? Van spaces are reserved for persons in wheelchairs, not for anyone with a tag or placard who wants to park one space closer to the door.
