Would someone please take the credit card away from our governor and Legislature?
The Legislature to KU regarding its debt load: “Do as I say, don’t do as I do.” The Legislature is acting like a 3-year-old.
The Legislature set itself up for the Kansas Supreme Court’s decision on block grant funding of public schools by acquiescing to the court’s unconstitutional power grab in the Montoy case a decade ago. Now what will the Legislature do – cave in again?
The legislators can comply with the school decision quickly and simply if they abandon their horribly flawed ideology. Put the income taxes back where they were before 2012 and restore the school-funding system to what it was before block grants, and they’re done.
When did the courts begin to think that they can tell the Legislature what to do? The Supreme Court has way overstepped its bounds with school finance, and it’s high time we change how judges are selected.
Do average citizens realize they are paying both parties to the school-funding lawsuit and the judges who decide the case? This taxpayer doesn’t like paying for all three sides of the legal costs.
You think things are bad in Kansas since Gov. Sam Brownback took office? Just remember, at one time he was running for president of the United States.
I’m convinced that Brownback considers himself to be a one-man focus group.
Has Wichita Mayor Jeff Longwell every met a tax he didn’t like?
How can anyone enjoying the video of the fetus and the fist be pro-choice? I’m begging you to use common sense.
The success of Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump makes it clear Americans are tired of hired-gun politicians who do the dirty work of the highest bidder. They trust that Bernie is truly on their side and that at least “the Donald” is his own man.
It is interesting to hear the Republicans bash former President Clinton. I guess it wasn’t enough that during his presidency the economy was booming, the budget was balanced, and we were not fighting a useless war.
Can anyone in their wildest dreams imagine Hillary Clinton as the commander in chief of our armed forces?
With all the current voter rage, now would be a good time to vote in term limits for Congress; 12 years should be the max for the Senate and the House.
Our nation is painfully divided: Half of us believe that McDonald’s all-day breakfast represents a paradigm shift, and the other half sees it as a game changer. I don’t know that any of the remaining presidential candidates can heal this breach.
I also hate the boxes Pizza Hut uses. But don’t lose sight of the big picture: We live in a country where you can pick up the phone, give an order, and 30 minutes later a hot pizza arrives at your door. God bless America.
