Former Gov. Mark Parkinson and his wife, Stacy, have established a scholarship to assist Wichita State University students who want internships in Washington, D.C. Parkinson, who is now president and CEO of the American Health Care Association, graduated from WSU and grew up next to its golf course. “Wichita State has always been an important part of my life,” he said. In 2011, the Parkinsons endowed a debate scholarship at WSU. – Phillip Brownlee
