Today’s economics are so easy. As soon as the KDOT credit card dries up, we can just issue more bonds to pay the interest on the bonds we’ve already issued. And on and on and on.
When you borrow money and divert the proceeds, that’s fraud. How smart are the investors who trusted Sam Brownback? The real worry is how much credit card debt he has added to the state debt. Surely he has not stooped to payday lenders, since there does not appear to be an actual payday.
That state senator merely wanted ladies to wear professional attire. I’m sure if men got out of line with the amount of skin showing, there would be guidelines for them, too. This isn’t a feminist issue; it’s a decency one. I doubt most people have a clue what the women were wearing.
How have the activist educational programs worked out? Affirmative action has opened some doors, but mostly to empty closets as the educational baby was thrown out with the bathwater when someone decided that lowering standards would get it done. Common sense has become so uncommon.
Young Bernie Sanders supporters are exactly that – young and inexperienced.
I made up my mind whom to vote for after Donald Trump said he would try to bring back all the jobs from China and Mexico. In fact, he said he would do it. This is the information that people really want to hear. Jobs are what we need in America.
Facts continue to elude presidential front-runners. Waterboarding has been eliminated as an effective interrogation tool, yet Ted Cruz and Trump want to bring it back. Maybe they could bring back “duck and cover” as a safety measure for schools under tornado warnings.
My television must be more than 50 years old, because while I was watching the Republican debate several or all of the candidates spoke of securing the border. Same old story.
Corruption and partisanship in Washington, D.C., have been a perennial problem since humorist Will Rogers joked about it 80 years ago. It is so bad that two H-bombs dropped in the center of the city wouldn’t flush out all of the rats.
I don’t care what happens in the world. As long as God is God, there is nothing to worry about.
Joseph Randle and Johnny Manziel are in self-destruct mode.
A front-page headline: “Kansans in 50 years will be older, more urban.” Well, duh. Isn’t that what nature does – makes us all older as time goes by? As for me, I won’t be urban. I’ll be underground out in the country. Who wasted money on that study?
Front-page news – we have crows in Wichita. Who’d a thunk it?
