Opinion Line Extra (Feb. 1)

The armed group in the wildlife refuge in Oregon were not protesters. Real protesters are armed only with signs and chants. When they are asked to leave by authorities, they just get led away in handcuffs.


You can’t expect Gov. Sam Brownback to apologize to Planned Parenthood, because then he’d have to apologize for his tax cuts, his lack of job growth and all his other failed policies.


Average Kansans have higher taxes, while education, infrastructure spending and children’s programs have been cut. The state is in more debt through unauthorized borrowing by the governor and Legislature. We’ve spent millions defending extreme laws passed by this group. Rich Kansans are smiling all the way to the bank.


What kind of legislators do we have, in today’s society of weapon attacks, who want to override a local school decision with a state law to allow access to all schools for BB gun clubs? It would open our schools to all other clubs that want access.


Hillary Clinton just floated the greatest idea in the history of mankind. Appointing Barack Obama to the U.S. Supreme Court is a stroke of genius. Make this a reality, Madam President.


Bill Clinton or Barack Obama to the Supreme Court? Never has anybody been more unqualified, unless you consider Hillary’s qualifications to be president.


I remember when Republicans stood for personal responsibility. Now all Republicans do is whine and complain that they aren’t being treated fairly and the questions are too hard.


Wasn’t it odd that during Thursday’s GOP debate, most of the candidates gave an answer that somehow wound up talking about ISIS?


I can’t wait for Monday to get over, so America can go back to not caring about Iowa.

I have seen people jogging in the early morning before dawn, in the street, in the middle of the road, when sidewalks are available. This is unfair to drivers like me who do not want to hit a pedestrian. Please exercise common sense, as drivers may not be able to see you.


I drive I-135 and I-235 a lot. Almost every time a car blows past me, it has Texas plates. Where is law enforcement?
