How could you be unaware of the fact that voting twice in the same election, even in different states, is wrong?


The framers of the Kansas Constitution and its amendments never intended for that document to legalize abortion. It has taken liberal judges to bend and shape the Constitution to their will.


I wanted to be the guy who measured the low-cut necklines and miniskirts of the lady lobbyists up in Topeka.


Only five states, including Kansas, require grocery and convenience store beer to be 3.2 percent. I hope the major brewers decide to quit wasting money producing a product for the Bible thumpers.


If more normal people in the country would vote, politicians would not be pandering to the evangelicals. That seems to be the only group they care about. Social issues are not the problems they should be addressing.


There was a time when hospitals existed to heal and comfort the sick. Most were operated by religious organizations and staffed by caring individuals such as Catholic nuns. Over time, greed was allowed to rule over all aspects of health care and all else suffered, especially the patients.


It is time for this country to adopt a single-payer program to replace the profit-driven and multilayered private insurance system, which is driving up costs every year. More than 17 percent of the GDP goes to health care costs, and that is unsustainable.


While he had many fine moments, President Reagan’s response to the Challenger explosion (30 years ago) was his finest. If it has been a while since you viewed his address to the nation, it is worth another look. He said exactly what we felt.


Has the income of our local pot merchants decreased because of the option of going to Colorado? It might be an explanation for the rise of local robberies.


I liked the suggestion that the Jayhawks skip the trip to Oklahoma State next year and play the Topeka YMCA instead. But that might be too difficult for them. They should schedule a Missouri Valley team instead.


WSU has no reason to not go undefeated in the Missouri Valley. Some of the better high schools in the country could beat some of these Valley teams.


What I’d give for a good woman. Heavy sigh. Do good women even exist?


Many of us were put to bed with, “Sleep tight and don’t let the bedbugs bite.” We really did not know what that meant. Now we do, unfortunately.


When two people with hyphenated last names get married and have children, do the kids then have four last names?
