Opinion Line Extra (Jan. 28)

By my own count, if Donald Trump becomes president, on his first day he will have to sign nearly 100 executive orders to fulfill what he has promised so far to do on his first day in office.

Donald Trump: the kid even his mom didn’t want him to play with.

As far as we know, Trump does not have any tattoos, piercings, unpaid taxes or underage bimbo interns, nor is he a drinker or a junkie.

If Ted Cruz, born in Canada to an American mother, is a citizen, then why all the hoopla about Obama? Wasn’t his mother, born in Kansas, a citizen? I don’t recall reading that she had given up her citizenship.

The president was busy over the weekend explaining to the residents of Washington, D.C., that the stuff on the ground wasn’t snow, it was just that global warming has made the Earth white hot.

One nice thing about the snowstorm in D.C.: It briefly shut down our dysfunctional government.

Name a local school after President Obama? Boy, that’s a nonstarter. Maybe in 20 years if his reputation holds up.

The elections will be an exercise in assessing the ignorance of the Republican electorate. If you’re a Kansan and vote for any Republican for president, look forward to Brownback-style policies on the national level.

Hillary Clinton is still blaming the vast right-wing conspiracy for her ever-worsening e-mail scandal. Wow. Talk about beating a dead elephant.

If you favor squandering thousands of young American lives and the vast capacity of the American economy simply to line the greedy pockets of military industrial machine war profiteers, vote Republican. I’ve seen enough war in my lifetime and will forever vote “no” to this, which currently means Democrat.

I was 17 when the Clutter family was massacred and remember the hangings of Perry Smith and Richard Hickock. I want to see a date set for the execution of the Carr brothers. They did the same nasty deed and need to face the music.

It appears the Kansas Legislature is not the least bit concerned about discrimination against gays and lesbians but is very concerned about discrimination against gun dealers.

The Republican Party claims to stand for getting government out of people’s lives. Along comes state Sen. Mitch Holmes and his dress code to keep women from dressing too provocatively when testifying in front of legislative committees. Better to keep a cold bucket of water in the committee room.

Now the Kansas Republicans want to creating their own Shariah law in Topeka. Soon it will be mandatory burqas for all women.

Wow – Kris Kobach has really proved that there is massive voter fraud in Kansas. Not!

It gets really old hearing people apologize for something they believe in.
