The increasing number of “takers” versus the number of “makers” will assure that Kansas state budgets will be in jeopardy for some time.

Gov. Sam Brownback loves to promote what he calls a “march to zero,” referring to his goal of eliminating all income taxes. Looking at what’s left of the state after his policies continue to wreck it, a march over the cliff more accurately describes it.

I have a concealed-carry license and am a strong believer in the Second Amendment but find it appalling that Kansas no longer requires licensing to carry concealed. Too many untrained morons will now carry a gun without any appreciation of the awesome responsibility.

I guess that Christians who think other Christians should not own guns also believe that God will smile on them while they piously stand by and watch madmen slaughter their innocent children.

I watched a YouTube video of County Commissioner Jim Howell giving his lengthy opinion of President Obama’s executive order on gun control. As a taxpayer, I believe it is wrong for Howell to use the meeting for his personal, biased, misleading opinions.

Obama said in his guns town hall meeting that the United States was “born suspicious of some distant authority.” What a twisted view of the birth of this country. Obviously our president has a twisted mind.

Your idiot president should study up on the most common causes of death in the U.S. Guns are way at the bottom of the list and even closer to the bottom if suicides are discounted. He’s on the wrong bandwagon.

It’s a fact. Freedom is fungible.

Capitalistic free-market health care is capitalistic death boards, the rich getting healthy and the poor getting dead. We need universal single-payer health care.

I have come to the conclusion that one way to open more jobs would be to lower the retirement age to 62.

Regarding workplace lottery pools: How about not organizing your lottery pool on your employer’s dime? You’re time thieves. If you happen to win, I do hope you will consider reimbursing your employer.

How fortunate for WSU fans to have Don Hall announcing the Shockers’ home games for decades. He’s a class act and enhances the games.
