Sadly, the motto “In God We Trust” should be changed to “In Gun We Trust.”

I’ve finally recognized that many people have so little self-regard that they will never consider arming themselves to protect their loved ones or themselves. What I really have a problem with is that the same people demand I go unarmed and thus defenseless against evil people.

Boeing’s output was up in 2015 with 1,424 fewer employees in Washington state. This is the definition of “efficiency.” This is what stockholders like me like to see, and no different from the higher return on savings most people like to see.

In the past few years we have been charged more by trash collectors, cable companies, grocers and even The Eagle based on the increasing cost of gasoline. I’m still waiting for at least one of these companies to reduce my bill because of the precipitous gas price decrease.

Wichita taxpayers: Are you satisfied with the return on investment for hundreds of millions of dollars of school tax bonds? Taxpayers were assured better-performing students would result, but this failed because facilities weren’t the problem. Fooled you.

I watched President Obama’s year-end news conference. If he were a boxer, he would dance around the ring for two rounds. The other 13 rounds he would just hang over the ropes and tell the crowd how great he was.

In the 40 years I’ve been alive, only one person was sane enough to be president – Ron Paul. Before that it was JFK. All you people care about is that your “team” wins, no matter how unqualified or racist or sexist the candidate is.

Kris Kobach would be an excellent vice president for Donald Trump. Both candidates see life from the southbound end of a mule. My apologies to the mule.

Trump isn’t “politically incorrect.” He doesn’t “tell it like it is.” He is loudmouthed, obnoxious, rude and as politically consistent as a Clinton. Stop supporting him, and get behind someone who can actually win. Please.

The Sam Brownback tragedy our state is enduring will not end with Brownback’s term unless voters also oust those elected officials who supported his agenda. The message must be clear: Kansas will not tolerate any form of dictatorial government.

I’m pretty sure that I know what that sage Jed Clampett would have said regarding local mail delivery during our recent mini-ice storm: “plum pitiful.”

Where do I send my prescription bill due to the anxiety of the multiday predictions of blizzard conditions? Instead we had nothing but slick roads, which were drivable but required some common sense. Scare Tactics 101.

Weather forecast complainers probably cannot forecast their plans for the next day.
