The Force woke up, looked around and went back to sleep.

With drones being such dangerous toys, please help me understand why any idiot can buy one.

Sen. Pat Roberts crowed in a Dec. 22 commentary that Congress passed a balanced budget. Maybe it balances 10 years from now, but not this year. After 50-odd attempts to repeal Obamacare, the Republicans voted to improve the law. Unbelievable.

Estimates put Roberts’ worth at a mere $3.1 million. No wonder he can’t afford to come visit us in Kansas very often.

Would Islamic countries welcome millions of Christian refugees?

To all those people supporting Donald Trump because he is saying what they want to hear: Look in the mirror. Would you really want that person you see to be president?

We’ve all heard of those wonderful drugs that help isolate problems within our bodies. Trump seems to have the same effect on some folks. He’s able to draw the unfettered, unfiltered ignorance out of seemingly ordinary, normal-appearing people.

Dear Democrats: If you are not embarrassed by Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Barack Obama, I don’t understand why you would think we should be embarrassed by Trump.

We’ve put Jeb Bush on the spot about what he would do or not do differently from his brother George W. Bush. I’d like to know how the other current Republican candidates would answer the same questions.

Again during the political campaign season, the greatest survival kit is the collection of buttons on my TV remote that cancel out all the hogwash.

It used to be that our government had departments to deal with defense, justice, state and agriculture, to name a few. Now it appears that their only function is to fight climate change. What an incredible loss of focus and responsibility.

If computer models can’t accurately predict a snow event a few days away, it is absurd to think they can predict a 2-degree rise in temperature 50 years from now. It is more absurd to think giving billions to a corrupt and inept government would fix the problem.

The problem with a lot of police officers is they have an attitude that doesn’t allow them to back down. Nothing justifies shooting a 12-year-old who had a fake gun. All they had to do was observe him from a distance and tell him to put down the gun.

You wouldn’t like America if the Second Amendment went away.

We need to go back to having corner grocery stores – that deliver.

Something to be thankful for – not living next to the yards that have metal dragons and dinosaurs. I’m glad I live in an area with a homeowners’ association.

I agree 100 percent with the person who praised the crowd participation in the national anthem at Koch Arena. I did express my opinion to Darron Boatright about this. Keep it up, Wichita State.
