Opinion Line Extra (Dec. 30)

We need to start building more prisons for all the college kids carrying guns on campus. There are about to be a lot more campus shootings starting in fall 2017. If I were a professor, I’d think about a new job.

Anyone who disagrees with guns on campus, conceal and open carry, sufficient funding for schools, or fair tax rates is labeled as a liberal by the right-wing extremists. I hope the majority of the liberals who didn’t bother to vote will rid our state of these fanatic politicians and supporters.

There is no such thing as “unfettered access to guns” here, and the actions of a few deranged individuals do not mean you get to ignore the Constitution and trample our rights.

It seems weird that Hillary Clinton is calling for tighter gun control as extremists are waging war on our country.

Ted Cruz actually used his own children to participate in a negative ad smearing Hillary Clinton, then had the gall to decry the media using his actions in a political cartoon. He’s the one who exploited his own children for his own political purposes.

One of the most dangerous jobs is being an elephant keeper. The second most dangerous activity is listening to a Republican and then voting the way they want you to.

I really like House Speaker Paul Ryan, but his beard sucks.

Regarding Charles Krauthammer’s “Be skeptical of dietary ‘findings’” (Dec. 26 Opinion): Be skeptical of Charles Krauthammer. He’s not a doctor who went to medical school; he’s a Fox News pundit who went to medical school.

Let me apologize in advance to aggressive drivers. I really did not mean to cut you off, drive too slowly, drive too closely, take your parking spot, or anything else to anger you. I am sorry and there is no reason for a road rage incident.

After driving in Europe in Germany, France, Spain and many other countries, I am convinced that the driver’s license for Wichitans should be made twice as difficult to acquire as it is now.

When I can see a car approaching from a mile away without its headlights on, what then am I supposed to make of the cars with their headlights on? Just how is it “helping” anything?

Even if the law did not require us to turn on headlights when it’s raining, it’s still an important defensive driving action. Turning on your headlights also turns on your taillights, which means you’re less likely to get rear-ended during poor visibility.

The local TV weather stations should be ashamed of themselves for hyping the phony blizzard. Is it too much to ask that they’re even close to their predictions?
