Opinion Line Extra (Dec. 23)

After seven years of so-called leadership from an empty suit, do Americans really want more of the same from an empty pantsuit?

“The Donald” is oblivious to the fact that Vladimir Putin is playing Trump for a chump.

Oldsmobile on a sidewalk in Las Vegas – modern-day version of an AR-15. Politicians, is it time to go after those deadly automobiles?

Universal background checks for gun sales are an anti-gunner scheme with the goal of a de facto gun-registration list.

I was looking at articles about discovering 5,000-year-old lost cities under the ocean and was wondering if they caused global warming or if it is a natural occurrence.

Figure it out: Climate change and weather are not the same thing. Duh.

The one thing I have to admit about Gov. Sam Brownback: He learned the “my way or the highway” form of governing well from his senatorial terms during the George W. Bush administration.

I’ve discovered something recently: Conservatives are not nice.

I guess the person wishing everyone a “merry Christmas” and complaining about pagan rituals and the winter solstice does not know that the Christmas holiday was set in late December to convince pagans to switch to Christianity. Merry winter solstice, everyone.

Thanks a bunch, Wichita Eagle, for jinxing us again with your prediction of continued low gas prices.

So, there was a major incident on the Kansas Turnpike south of Wichita and the much-hyped electronic information signs were mute. Way to go, KDOT. Talk about a waste of taxpayer money.

Stop the whining about people driving in the left lane. Is it that hard for you small-brained truck and SUV drivers to pass in the right lane? Be thankful you don’t have to drive through town stopping every block for a traffic light even when no one is around.

Those “idiots” drive with their lights on in the rain, first, because it is a state law and, second, because it just might save your life. If you drive in the rain on rural two-lane highways, you know it is very hard to see an oncoming car without its lights on.

Opinion Line indicates a major traffic problem facing the new police chief is people driving with their headlights on during daylight hours. Speeding, no turn signals, running traffic lights, etc. – no problem. A task force is needed to solve this dastardly headlight problem. Then someone’s Christmas dream will come true.

Lights are turned on in the rain to make you more visible. It’s not to help you see better. Merry Christmas to you, idiot.
