Opinion Line Extra (Dec. 21)

Although there were differences among the various recent mass shootings, one thing they apparently had in common: The shooters all had their “Second Amendment rights.”

Kudos to the staff for keeping the arena from being stuffed with untrained gun toters. What happened in Paris might seem minor if every untrained Tom, Dick and Harry in there started a wild shooting fiasco in the midst of 15,000 panicked people.

It’s lunacy to think that additional restraints on law-abiding citizens to buy guns will in any way stop radical Islamic terrorists from getting weapons.

Here’s a novel idea to stop terrorism that nobody is talking about. How about we stop bombing brown people in the Middle East and stealing their oil?

I swear – if John Kasich and Nancy Pelosi didn’t have hands, they wouldn’t be able to talk. Enough already; it distracts from your message.

The Republicans showed me by their words at the debate that none of them is any good, and they hate each other, President Obama, Hillary Clinton and all people other than themselves, so that means me. So I won’t vote for any of them.

If “the Donald” ever takes over, other countries will be paraphrasing “The Wizard of Oz”: “Pay no attention to that puny country cowering behind that wall.”

The secret isn’t Hillary Clinton. It’s her party. The Democrats don’t hate the middle class and the poor. They help and represent them.

Nobody is listening to what Clinton is saying on anything, least of all on counterterrorism.

Thank you to John Kerry for having the courage to stand up and say that man-made global warming is basically a big hoax.

Oregon received more than 11 inches of rain recently that resulted in massive floods and landslides. Thank God we are diverting that runoff into the parched deserts of California. Oh, wait....

We spend the working taxpayer’s money to send legislators to an ALEC convention to be wined and dined and to learn how better to serve their business donors, many of whom pay no income taxes in Kansas. That is representation without taxation.

How immature of Rep. Carolyn Bridges to quit her position. There are many issues she was elected to stay and fight for, including education. Picking up her marbles and going home only proves she was an unsuitable candidate.

Children or adults who perpetrate hoaxes causing any facility to shut down should be given a minimum of five years in prison. My belief is they suffer very little when caught, yet cause millions of dollars in damages.
