Rep. Mike Pompeo told The Eagle he supports an NSA metadata program on steroids. Translation: He supports more spying on all Americans.


Dec. 15 was Bill of Rights Day. Thank God our forefathers enshrined these rights in the Constitution. Otherwise, the Democrats would have abrogated these rights long ago, just as they are chipping away at them now.


You know how it is with Republicans – the tiniest prospect for profit outweighs any level of near certain environmental damage so long as prosecution for the environmental damage isn’t imminent.


The liberals just keep up the climate change spin. Sure, we have climate change. Here in Kansas it’s warm one day and cold on another day. Duh.


What are the global warming deniers waiting for – the water to get up to their chins?


Now that Vladimir Putin has endorsed Donald Trump, perhaps we can get a thumbs-up from Bashar Assad and Kim Jong Un. Now there’s a candidate that the Republican Party can support.


Since an intelligence community review has reaffirmed that Hillary Clinton sent two classified “top secret” e-mails via her private server, when is she going to prison?


Why do we give rich people more and more money to run the country? They don’t seem to be doing all that great a job.


Sandy Hook, San Bernardino, Boston, Colorado Springs. None of these massacres could have been prevented by our military. No increase in funds is needed for the military. We need to beef up our local law enforcement agencies.


So now our Kansas colleges and universities will have to allow guns in the hands of unlicensed, untrained drunken frat boys. What could possibly go wrong?


Any gun for anyone at any time for any reason in any place without training or accountability. Merry Gun-Mas.


If you get your mail, the streetlights change, the roads are paved, and police are on the streets, then say “no” to the ridiculous anti-government rhetoric and reject the Republicans next election. Obama, Democrats and good government have more than earned your vote.


Voter fraud is tiny compared with election fraud.


Seriously, do we really need a Kansas African American Affairs Commission?


Water and sewer rates go up again. Retirees don’t get raises. The city says old pipes need to be replaced. Why weren’t the pipes repaired many moons ago? Who was in charge then? Where’s the accountability?


It is the season of cognitive dissonance. You are supposed to have goodwill toward all. But does that include the person in front of you driving 10 mph under the speed limit in the passing lane?
