I was laughing at the GOP debate until I realized they were seriously discussing committing international war crimes.
Tuesday’s was the best Republican debate so far. We have a lot of great candidates. However, let’s not elect a candidate who will get us into another full-fledged war fought with the majority of American soldiers, and let’s not elect a candidate with a lawyer’s aptitude.
The debate made it apparent Republicans are enthralled at the prospect of more war. It’s not their sons and daughters who are maimed or killed. It’s those of the poor and minorities. Republicans sit back and reap the profits from their investments in the military industrial complex.
Thanks to the school board member who sounded the alarm on low test scores in Wichita high schools. I was starting to think all the board did was vote on bond projects. At least one member acts like there is concern for education.
Surely the new athletic facilities at Southeast High School will raise test scores. The school board needs to be patient and let it work.
Thanks to Rep. Carolyn Bridges for her service. I completely understand. For the first time in my 42 years as an educator, last year I had to counsel a student not to enter the profession for the very reason Bridges mentioned. Kansas educators are reviled by our state government.
Bridges is just another case of a career Kansas educator being a thin-skinned crybaby. Why do I think that she is only the tip of the iceberg?
Funny how people rename ideas to make them sound bad, like how “good manners and politeness” are now called “politically correct” – like it’s a bad thing.
“Trainwreck” is aptly named for the quality of the movie. Amy Schumer is proud of her acting skills in the horizontal position. Evidently, the Golden Globes are, too. Instead of R for restricted there should be an F rating for filth.
I sure wish at least one of our local TV stations would concede there is an eastern part of Kansas and give weather forecasts for it. Some of us travel to that part of the state from time to time.
Enjoy the PajamaGram and flowers commercials, because the heavy dose of weight-loss commercials is only weeks away.
