I hope that David Dillon and the Uncork Kansas campaign can do something about our antiquated Kansas liquor laws. Now we buy liquor at the liquor store, ice outside the store, then drive to the grocery store for the tonic water. What a waste of fuel and time.

Really? Former Kroger CEO David Dillon, now chairing Uncork Kansas, apparently wants to shut down all of the small liquor stores in the state of Kansas. This should be bad publicity for Kroger’s Dillons stores.

In Kansas, a “liberal” is anyone who doesn’t think like you. There are more of us than you believe.

If you’re going to give illegal immigrants driving permits, why not throw in honorary college degrees just for the heck of it?

You people don’t get it. Just let an illegal without insurance hit you and wipe you out financially and medically. Are you so blind in your hatred you want that for yourself and others? Illegal immigrants aren’t going away. I’d rather they drive legally with insurance.

I would like to know how much the city of Wichita spent both directly and indirectly (staff time) on telling the voters that if the sales tax failed the sky would fall. This includes the propaganda letter that the city sent out a couple of weeks before the election.

How dare Mark Nichols say that Koch Industries opposed the sales tax because “we have long been opposed to government subsidies,” when Koch has requested and received them? That is nothing but hypocrisy. Koch’s $1 million infusion of funds into the “no” campaign will hurt this city for years.

The people of New York City electing Bill de Blasio for mayor is like the people of Minnesota electing Jesse Ventura for governor – unbelievable.

We have seen what has happened to Marxist regimes like Russia, Venezuela and Cuba, so why do the Democrats still want to push our country in that direction?

Columnist Leonard Pitts did what he does best in his Dec. 22 diatribe. He cherry-picked one instance from thousands to make his broad condemnation of a Fox News host. Bill O’Reilly gives ample evidence to prove his point, and Pitts offered one unfortunate incident of his narrow-minded research to overturn the argument.

Pitts, as is his nature, relied heavily on anecdotes and and trampled just as heavily on facts in his hackneyed missive on “white privilege.” How about the living, breathing cartoon character Al Sharpton, a tax cheat with full access to the White House?
