Opinion Line Extra (Dec. 16)

So Ben Carson is thinking about leaving the Republican Party. So what? Let him go. Who cares? He is not that important and he does not know enough to be president. Good riddance.

Iowa always seems to support the Republican religious right candidates in the caucuses. But supporting a Cuban-Canadian is a new low for a state of “Idiots Out Wandering About,” or “IOWA.”

I don’t think all that rumbling we are feeling is earthquakes. I think it is our Founding Fathers rolling over in their graves after hearing that Donald Trump wants to ban Muslims from entering our country. Probably not what they had in mind when they drafted the Declaration of Independence.

The reason why Trump is so popular is because most of his followers have the same prejudices and bigoted ideas as he does.

The president referred to ISIS as a JV team. The true JV team resides in the White House. This is what America gets when it elects a community organizer with no foreign policy experience. Hopefully in 2016 America will elect a leader with experience and a backbone.

Perhaps we should retitle Obama’s proposed gun control legislation as Prohibition II. History has certainly proved to everyone how successful that was.

Faux News and all the other hate- and fearmongers have succeeded. Now what? Your sick, hateful, paranoid message has poisoned the well. A sad state of affairs for our once wonderful nation.

So a former Miss Kansas may get jail time for shooting a bear, but we release Guantanamo prisoners who go back to ISIS to make plans to kill us. Our priorities and common sense left the country a long time ago.

Seriously, Michelle Obama doing rap? It shows how America and the White House have lost class. How embarrassing.

Free speech is frowned upon in our universities. You must think as I do, or you will be eliminated. Scary thought, but that’s what we’ve come to. Truly the inmates are running the prison.

Does WSU president John Bardo have any idea where he is taking WSU? The ideas being floated about the future of Koch Arena are a stretch. That is bad, but bringing football back to WSU borders on stupidity. Does he have any idea about the cost of that venture?

I read an article regarding a woman with no health insurance. What happened to Obamacare? Is that not the answer? Obama said everyone gets health care.

Of course there is no written policy against gays in the Kansas Department for Children and Families. Same as Kris Kobach has no written policy against minorities, elderly and disabled in his anti-voting laws.

I wish the police would start ticketing the idiots who drive in the dark or rain without benefit of headlights.
