Opinion Line (Dec. 22)
Democrats need to step aside and let the good, red-blooded Republicans clean up their mess. We will get the answers they are afraid to get, no matter what it takes. They can get in their electric cars and compost or recycle something, and leave the tough decisions to us rednecks.
Another Bush as president? Well, that should complete the destruction of the USA.
When it comes to Bush or Clinton for president, one reader may want to “push the recycle button,” but I am hitting the flush handle on both.
The president commented about his experience with racism. I vividly remember being harassed and other whites being assaulted by blacks during the race riots in the 1960s simply because of our skin color. Racism exists on both sides to this day. Stop making it a one-sided issue.

Highway speeds have increased to the point that folks are doing 82 mph on the 75 mph interstates and closer to 90 mph on Texas I-10. The posted minimum speed on these roadways remains 40 mph. This is now way too slow and should be raised in the interest of safety.
Stop braking to let traffic merge onto the highway. You’re not supposed to brake for them. They are supposed to merge. You’re messing up traffic flow by braking. You’re going to cause a pileup.

Cheap gas is a plot by Obama and GM to ruin sales of the new aluminum F-150.
Follow the law so you don’t fear the law.
You hear about polls on everything. I am 64, have had a driver’s license since 1966, voted in every election since 1972, am a U.S. Army veteran and worked in the same place for 30 years, yet I have never been asked for my opinion by a “pollster.” Make you wonder?
I don’t want to understand women. Women understand women, and they all hate each other.
