Will someone please explain to me the difference between an activist judge and an activist governor?


Gov. Sam Brownback must be doing all the right things for Kansas when he catches nothing but hate from the left.


I saw the American flag flying at half-staff on the abortion clinic off East Kellogg. Rightfully so. Also, shouldn’t our flag always fly at half-staff on any abortion clinic every day?


Why do conservatives and the GOP seem to believe that outlawing guns won’t prevent gun violence, but outlawing abortion will prevent abortion?


Corporate welfare: the state of Kansas spending $20 million to dredge John Redmond Reservoir for Westar Energy’s Wolf Creek nuclear power plant.


Comments by City Council members about county commissioners’ suggestions for a 20-year joint plan were childish and unprofessional. Now they want $20 million more from the county when they have not shown they can spend tax money responsibly. Fix our streets instead of spending on talking crosswalks and bike paths.


Sedgwick County Commissioner Tim Norton is a class act, walking out on a racist diatribe spewed by another commissioner during a public meeting. Thank you, Commissioner Norton, for showing principled government is not beyond our reach.


I would like to congratulate the students at the nation’s colleges and universities for setting the standard for fighting the continuing racism in this country. Colleges and universities are the conscience of this country and the real drivers of positive change.


The disturbing thing is not that college students are protesting. They are immature in mental development, lacking in life experience and apt to follow the crowd. The disturbing thing is that college administrators are failing to show leadership and instead are caving to their ridiculous demands.


All teenagers focus on nowadays is body image. Who cares about that? As long as they are comfortable with their body, they’re fine. Teenagers should focus on things like school instead of dumb things.


There should be an entertainment club for teenagers. We still like to have fun.
