Opinion Line (Nov. 23)

If you like the way Kansas is going under Republican policies, continue to vote for Republicans. If you don’t like it so much, vote for Democrats.

Demagogues benefit from keeping people agitated. The more threatened people feel, the less likely they are to listen to dissenting opinions, and the more easily controlled they are. This must be the Brownback grand plan to keep ultraconservatives in power.

The president and chancellor of the University of Missouri resigned because they did not do their jobs. President Obama should consider doing the same.

Obama bragged that he ended the war in Iraq. Now he says he didn’t. Does this man have no memory? Or is his narcissism so complete that he is totally incapable of contrition?

While Republicans are foaming at the mouth over Muslims and terrorists, they have done nothing about the hundreds of people who die each year in America at the hands of domestic terrorists.

Pirates once terrorized the seas. They were brutal thugs, rapists and killers, much like ISIS today. The oceans must have seemed as vast as the caves these roaches scurry into now seem to us. We need to search the history books to learn how countries tracked and eliminated these criminals.

There seems to be a lot of opportunity in working your way up the ISIS corporate ladder. Every time one of their leaders brags about an attack they carried out, he is usually dead in a month or so. Next.

It seems to me that an oil company dumping wastewater and creating a big earthquake in Oklahoma can cause more widespread damage, fear and potential death than any terrorist. Whose fault will it be when a building collapses, killing several people? Obama’s?

The paranoids are out to get me.

Everyone needs some Christmas spirit, but putting out decorations right after Halloween is just too much. People need time to relax before the next holiday.

I don’t know why everyone says they hate Kansas. Yes, it can be boring at times, but it’s home and it gives you a reason to travel.

High schools should have open lunch, since Michelle Obama ruined our lunch for us.

Schools need to be more aware of students’ mental health. Many students struggle with coming to school and participating because of this.

It is extremely inappropriate that people try to label teens who commit suicide as cowards. There is so much pressure growing up, especially with finding out who you are. It is so easy to get lost. Just know you are loved and never alone.
