Another report shows state trailing nation

A new state revenue report from the Nelson A. Rockefeller Institute of Government shows Kansas trailing the nation and neighboring states on some economic measures. Personal income tax withholding in Kansas decreased by 0.6 percent from July through September, the fifth worst rate in the country. Nationally, tax withholding was up 5 percent. Kansas’ nonfarm employment growth rate was 0.6 percent compared with the same period last year, the seventh worst rate. Nationally, the job growth rate was 2 percent. – Phillip Brownlee
