Opinion Line Extra (Nov. 17)

For those of you who missed the president’s press conference from Turkey, I can sum it up for you in two words: filibuster and gobbledygook. He is just not up to the job.


So the French have bombed ISIS strongholds in Syria. Good for them. But if it is known where their strongholds are, why did everyone wait until ISIS killed more than 100 in Paris to do something? The U.S., Russia or several other countries should have hit them long ago.


The Republican presidential candidates refuse to blame President George W. Bush for the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks but are quick to blame President Obama for the Paris terrorist attacks.


I bet those people who were attacked in Paris wish they were armed with guns to protect themselves.


Refugees fleeing their countries and filling up countries whose philosophies and lifestyles they hate is not the answer. Securely house the women and children – fine. Arm the men and send them back to fight that which they fled from.


Excuse me, but sending my special forces team of Green Berets to Syria is not like putting a penny down on a $50,000 loan. Each has had millions invested in his training. Each is worth more than you can imagine. Especially to me, their families and their brothers in arms.


We are sending a few advisers to Syria. I remember when the U.S. sent a few advisers to Vietnam.


Eagle front-page headline – “Brownback’s poverty strategy: Is it working?” Answer: Boy, is it. This is the most poverty I have seen since I moved to Kansas 46 years ago.


Well, a good outcome from the Paris attacks was it gave the news media some real hardball question to ask the Democratic debate candidates, unlike those the Republicans got.


So, Marco Rubio is trashing philosophy students in favor of welders. Perhaps he should return to his parents’ homeland to be a welder and make all that fabulous money.


The Republican debates are a disservice to the American public, as they have not been broadcast on ABC, NBC or CBS. Even a person taking basic cable may miss these debates. So much for democracy.


The steam that comes out your mouth during cold weather is nothing more than the hot air blown up your bottom side by the current administration in Washington, D.C.


The statement “black lives matter” is racist against whites, as is the raised black fist, which is a symbol for black power. Why is this being ignored by the press?


Next time anyone in academia preaches about “diversity” or “inclusiveness,” ask them how many conservatives or Christians are in their department.
