As the dollar has strengthened more than the euro has, why do some people want the U.S. to become like Europe?
Republicans keep calling Obamacare a job killer, but the U.S. has had 68 straight months of job growth. The GOP is not known for the knowledge of the facts.
Michelle Obama’s school lunch program is a disaster. Food waste and costs are through the roof, actually bankrupting some school lunch funds. So much for masterminds in Washington planning food service for millions of schoolchildren.
I hold contempt toward nearly all conservative thinking because they believe nothing should be allowed to halt the march toward despotic greed and supreme profit – neither morality, ethics, religion nor laws written for everyone. This is why they hate government oversight and the cleansing glare of sunlight.
Didn’t our governor and GOP get voted into office on promises of fewer taxes and smaller government? That is exactly what we are getting. Shame on us for getting what we asked for. What happened to all that lottery and state casino money that was supposed to help the burden?
What’s with this giving the state legislators an 8.5 percent increase in per diem allowances? Our government is so crooked, it’s unreal.
House Speaker Ray Merrick thinks expanding Medicaid is a budget buster? Well, he should know since he has voted for bills that have produced budget deficit after budget deficit. Hello, pot, my name is kettle.
Kris Kobach realizes his voter ID law won’t stand the test of the courts. Why else would he agree to register the two Kansas voters absent proof of citizenship, then insist they withdraw their lawsuit? The lawsuit should continue. Harm was done.
Why is it that unsightly and blighted properties in Wichita can have 10 to 12 years of complaints registered with the city, but within two days after a local television station puts this on the news, large trucks with equipment show up to clear the properties?
Columnist Leonard Pitts is nothing more than an Al Sharpton wannabe. What a lofty ambition. Under the guise of equality for everyone, he keeps stirring the pot. Why shouldn’t he? If things calm down, there will be no need for him.
I keep hearing that if people follow the “lawful orders” from the police, they will be OK. I believe if the victims had lawyers beside them, the police would act differently. It is the police who act outside the law in many cases.
It’s always the motorist, never the bicyclist. If you are out there for exercise, why don’t you obey the rules of the road and stop at the stop signs instead of blowing through them? You’ll get more exercise.
What’s with the rise in overly tinted front car and truck windows? They are illegal. I know I want to see what’s next to me in traffic, and they aren’t safe for the police.
