Is freezing tax cuts on Brownback’s table?

Gov. Sam Brownback was asked by the Topeka Capital-Journal if he would be willing to sign legislation that would delay or stop the implementation of his tax cuts as a way to boost revenue. “All things are on the table,” Brownback responded. “I’m willing to look at what we need to do to get ourselves in a good position.” However, the same day he told Martin Hawver of Hawver’s Capitol Report that he was not interested in interrupting the income tax cuts. Brownback also was unwilling to concede, when asked by the Capital-Journal, that those who warned months ago that the state faced major budget problems have been proved correct. – Phillip Brownlee
