A Roll Call report headlined “House Conservative Faces Primary Peril in 2016” suggested Kansas Republicans have had enough of the “politics and personality” of Rep. Tim Huelskamp, R-Fowler, and are working on a “credible” GOP challenge in two years. The proposed names so far: state Sen. Garrett Love, R-Montezuma; Great Bend physician Roger Marshall; Tracey Mann, who lost to Huelskamp in the 2010 primary; and former Senate President Dave Kerr. (Marshall didn’t rule it out to Roll Call; Kerr said he didn’t think it was “in the cards.”) But Huelskamp told Roll Call he’s working on a better relationship with the Kansas Farm Bureau, which declined to endorse him this year over renewable energy and his ouster from the House Agriculture Committee, and that he’s “not worried about 2016.” – Rhonda Holman
