Golly, gee – President Obama just sent 50 special ops to Syria. That’s like putting a penny down on a $50,000 loan.
Since Obama’s second term started, I have been convinced he will close Guantanamo and turn it over to the Castro brothers as a reward for doing business with us. Wait and see.
When only a small percentage of eligible voters exercise the privilege, you no longer have a representative government. You just have a few angry men running things who were mouthy enough to get a few other angry people up out of their recliners to go vote.
Why don’t people’s religions do things like keep them from playing sports for money?
We can’t afford the existing Kansas Medicaid program, with costs to the state general fund exceeding the budget by $19.4 million. Democrats and the media insist on expanding this unaffordable program to the nonpoor.
Brownback wants to rob the highway fund again to help cover the $118 million budget shortfall. Then when the roads crumble and potholes are everywhere, we will take our cars for alignments and new tires at shops that pay zero Kansas income taxes. You can’t make this stuff up.
I want to help the needy but refuse to support the clueless.
Can’t we at least try to recoup some of the money we threw away on a new airport terminal by selling the old one? Did they try putting it on Craigslist? At least stick a for-sale sign on it with Mayor Jeff Longwell’s phone number.
The presidency? It’s not brain surgery.
The only person who can beat Hillary Clinton is Ben Carson. California has 55 electoral votes and New York has 29. Those states historically go Democratic, so the hurdle starts high. So if you want to meet the goal of winning the general election, vote for Carson in the primary.
If Carson doesn’t succeed in the bid for nomination as presidential candidate, he can always take comfort in his possibility of being selected fiction writer of the year.
If you believe the government’s unemployment rate announced Friday, you are a special kind of stupid.
Talk-show host and Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach represents a governor and a party that have become frightened of fair elections.
Another good teacher makes the mistake of trying to teach his students the skill of critical thinking, and it nearly costs him his career. Unfortunately, some parents feel threatened that their children might view the world with an open mind instead of simply accepting the prejudices that they’ve been taught.
The Broadway musical hit “The Book of Mormon” is coming to Wichita. Please research the story and don’t go to the show if you are easily offended. I want to watch and enjoy the show without naysayers.
The Veterans Day Parade on Saturday was great, except where were the marching bands? There was only one at the beginning, and it was terrific. I have been to several Wichita parades with no marching bands. What a shame.
