Opinion Line (Nov. 7)

Cut foreign aid in half, and none to our enemies, and use that money to help our seniors on Social Security. Our retirees earned it.

Employers that hire illegal immigrants are just like criminals that buy illegal drugs. The problem is caused (and driven) by the demand.

It’s that time of year again when deer lovingly chase each other. Never mind that 4,000-pound cars are driving in the dusk. The deer can just run free until they stop our cars. Kansas wildlife officials should be giving non-hunters rebates for vehicle repairs.

If Southwest Airlines really is interested in increasing its ridership to and from ICT, it will bring back the former AirTran Atlanta connection. I made that trip numerous times. Planes were almost always full or nearly full.

The Republicans won’t be happy until they’ve turned their “debates” into two-hour infomercials.

Once again I’ve enrolled in Obamacare, and I got a great price on my policy and a great plan (silver). Thank you, President Obama, and all who helped create the Affordable Care Act. ACA is not perfect. But if we always waited for perfection, nothing would ever get done.

In 2016, I’ll vote for only those candidates who promise to pass a law that prohibits opossums and raccoons from eating my pet’s food from the dish on my front porch. There is no more urgent matter confronting our nation.

I’d like to know how much of the Pentagon budget is for advertising.

Commonsense Kansas Republicans need to pop Brownback’s bubble, from within.

You can put as happy a face as you want on it, but parenting is a two-person job, preferably with the mother and father.

I wish to thank all the men and women of the Wichita Police Department and Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office for the wonderful job they did controlling the parade traffic for this year’s Wichita Toy Run. Job well done.

Halloween in Wichita is a joke. What showed up at my house were adults (with no kids and no costumes). What is that? I believe these individuals were casing the neighborhood for future “tricks.” If they show up on my front porch again I will have a “treat” for them.

My wife keeps saying, “It’s forecasted to rain tomorrow.” I keep saying, “You want to bet it doesn’t?” So far I’ve been right most of the time.
