Opinion Line Extra (Dec. 4)
There is nothing that the government can get into or take over that it can’t foul up worse than it is now.
For most Kansas residents, the old tax rates were only 3.5 percent on their taxable income (after exemptions and deductions). The state was able to meet its financial obligations then. Gov. Sam Brownback has given us a sorry mess.
Current-day Kansas voters never would’ve figured out that the Wizard of Oz was a fake.
Will Sen. Pat Roberts be spending Christmas in his home state, or might he opt to spend it in Kansas?
In Tuesday’s Opinion Line someone was comparing President Obama to the great Jackie Robinson. I am still laughing.
Comparing Obama to Robinson is an insult not only to Robinson but to all black Americans who rose to great heights in a time when racism really was an obstacle. You have to be some kind of serious moron to claim racism against Obama. He was elected, twice.
History will record that Obama is tied with Herbert Hoover and Jimmy Carter as the worst president ever.
From 2009 to 2011, the Senate and House Republicans couldn’t block anything. The only bills that didn’t pass are ones the administration wanted to politicize later or ones that couldn’t even get Democrat support – i.e., immigration, minimum wage, gay marriage.
I actually believed things were getting better in this country until I saw people taking their children to Ferguson to witness the burning and looting. And the president, Attorney General Eric Holder and Al Sharpton are bound to overturn the judicial process to their favor. Another generation lost.
If the police in the St. Louis County area would quit acting like the Gestapo, we would not be in this situation. Perhaps there should be a “We are not God” training session for all officers.
Thanks to the Rams, I now have a team I hate worse than the Cowboys.
NFL players such as Ray Rice should not be held to a higher standard. They should only be held to the law – equal protection under the law.
I am thankful I have the luxury of a warm house, more than enough to eat and hot water that magically comes out of my faucet when I turn it on.
I just returned from Mexico by car. I’m saddened to see our U.S. bridge bumps are now worse than Mexico’s. I’m sure the builder of the Big Ditch bridge flyover could have done a better job.
Handsome gentlemen and lovely ladies have an inverse relationship to the number to tattoos they have.
Garth Brooks needs to get over himself.
I quit drinking at 90, but I have a couple shots of Old Croak twice a week for medicinal purposes.
