Two Wichita legislative districts are among the top five races to watch next year, according to the Lawrence Journal-World. Sen. Michael O’Donnell, R-Wichita, was elected in 2012 with less than 50 percent of the vote and has already drawn a Democratic challenger, longtime Wichita school board member Lynn Rogers. Rep. Joe Scapa, R-Wichita, is also on the watch list. He first was elected in 2010, then lost in 2012, then won again in 2014, but by only 28 votes. Democrat Elizabeth Bishop, former director of Wichita Independent Neighborhoods, is challenging Scapa. – Phillip Brownlee
