Opinion Line (Nov. 1)

Kansas Republicans are screaming to cut federal programs, expenses and taxes, but wait – cuts cannot apply to the federal crop insurance program for Kansas farms.

Good riddance to Speaker John Boehner. He has damaged severely the Republican Party and the financial stability of our country. How ironic that his last deal was passed by Democrats, with two-thirds of Republicans opposing. I resent my tax dollars supporting him for the rest of his life.

Hillary Clinton and Mike Pompeo: two politicians I’ve learned to deeply distrust. From his appearance in the Benghazi hearing, it was apparent that Pompeo wasn’t very capable in questioning or analyzing Clinton’s major failings as secretary of state.

I’ve been wondering why Condoleezza Rice was never investigated about the 13 embassy and consulate attacks that resulted in the deaths of 60 Americans during her time as secretary of state and national security adviser. Oh, that’s right – she wasn’t running for president.

At the GOP debate it was just like Jeb Bush to uphold a family tradition of attacking the wrong guy.

If a neurosurgeon is not qualified to be president, then why was a community organizer qualified?

These Republican presidential candidates are not fit for the office if they think any tough question is a “gotcha” and the questioner is “biased.”

Republicans can deal with the questions if they are meaningful questions, instead of being expected to listen to leftist hacks posing as journalists make idiotic pronouncements or ask “gotcha” questions. I’m surprised no one was asked, “When did you stop beating your wife?”

The migrants from Syria should go back home and fight for their country rather than turn tail and run away.

For those who feel a need for a strong U.S. military to protect us from ISIL: If you don’t want to get mugged and robbed, stay out of bad neighborhoods. The same should apply to U.S. policy in the Middle East.

I would like to thank President Obama and his minions for keeping the homeland safe. I received my notification from the federal Office of Personnel Management that my personal data had been stolen (hacked).

I have a bike light I bought for myself, so I don’t need a free one. But if I am caught and fined for sleeping in my car and then I call the City Council members stupid, will they buy me a motor home?

Some young Kansans need a college course on how to register to vote? Applying for college is more difficult than registering to vote. Maybe Mommy or Daddy handled the application for college.

I am astounded that KDADS spokeswoman Angela de Rocha wasn’t promptly fired by her Republican handlers. Doesn’t she realize that voters who learn very, very, very slowly (if they learn at all) are the very voters who keep her bosses in power?

Before you speak, ask yourself: Is it true? Is it helpful? Is it kind? Is it necessary? If you answer “no” to any of these questions, don’t say it.
