Opinion Line (Nov. 29)
How many protesters in Ferguson, Mo., Monday night were there to support Michael Brown’s family? It looked like all they were there for was to loot and rob innocent shop owners.
I appears that the St. Louis County prosecutor presented evidence to the grand jury that would ensure no indictment. Obviously, he was biased from the beginning. If he had been a “real” prosecutor, he would have filed charges and let the court decide the outcome.
What a great motto coming out of Ferguson: “Hands up, don’t shoot.” We all would be in a better place if Michael Brown had followed that advice.
“Hands up, don’t charge! Hands up, don’t charge!”
While it is a tragedy that a young man died in Ferguson, the real problem is that a lot of children today are not taught to respect authority. If your child attacks a police officer, it is not the fault of the officer if he shoots the child dead.
Ferguson burned because incompetent Democrat Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon failed to deploy the Missouri National Guard prior to the grand jury verdict announcement.
Thank you, Wichita participants, for exhibiting class to express your protest.
It makes me sad that there are retailers in our city that do not value family and national holidays. All businesses should be closed all day on Thanksgiving. Our country has become one of greed for the almighty dollar instead of one of love and family.
The holidays – the time of year when China and the multinational companies love the flood of money leaving this country.
I feel like I am illegally being alienated by this country.
When science and academia become political, we are lost. When academics are tools for money-grubbing lawyers and power-hungry politicians, we have no chance to succeed as a liberal society. We cannot design a perfect society. We have to let people striving to be free and honest build it themselves, together.
The sun must be shining too brightly on Kansas, for it blinded Gov. Sam Brownback to our financial shortfall.
I wish that people who are still contagious with a cold, or some other malady, would refrain from hacking and coughing over the produce or meat section. Also, it would be good if they’d wipe off the cart handle after they’ve used it.
Decoys, blinds, feeding stations, ATVs, sophisticated weapons, salt licks, tree stands, drones, guides, cameras, scents, camouflage. Why is it still called hunting?
