Opinion Line (Nov. 27)
Have a positive impact on someone. Say “hello” to a person you do not know. Hold a door open for the person behind you. Call an old friend. It may be cold outside, but it will warm your heart and brighten someone else’s day.
A great big “thank you” and expression of admiration to the McKinneys in north Riverside for their light and music display honoring this country, its veterans and its military currently serving.
“Car Talk” is one of the most entertaining shows on NPR. The tribute to the late Tom Magliozzi by his brother, Ray, with bits from old shows and their rendition of “Goodbye, My Coney Island Baby,” was a heartfelt goodbye. Thank you, Ray, and RIP, Tom.
On Nov. 1 my family was eating breakfast at the Beacon restaurant. The waitress said a generous person had paid for our meal. Your gesture was very much appreciated. Out of gratitude, we will pass it forward. Thank you and may you be blessed.
I left my checkbook at the cashier’s counter at the Plaza West Wal-Mart. My sincere thanks again to the clerk who ran out in the cold to find me and return it. May she be blessed for her kindness.
To the person who turned in my pink wallet at the Dillons on East Central with everything still inside: Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I wish I could somehow repay you. Your kindness will not soon be forgotten.
Kudos to our Wichita Eagle carrier, Valerie Hermes. As the weather gets colder and the driveway gets covered with snow and ice, she always manages to get the paper right next to the garage door. We senior citizens appreciate it.
A big “thank you” to the gentleman who helped start my car at the AYSO field on Ridge Road in October. You have restored my faith in humanity.
Many thanks to the two women who each contributed $10 for my groceries when I couldn’t remember my debit card code and did not have much cash with me. May God bless them for rescuing me in my embarrassing moment.
Thanks again to the great security guy working Nov. 17 at the Target at Maple and Ridge. I was just about to purchase a Starbucks insulated mug when he insisted on buying it for me. What a really nice thing to do.
