Might Huelskamp challenge Moran?

Rep. Tim Huelskamp, R-Fowler, is open to challenging Sen. Jerry Moran, R-Kan., in a GOP primary in 2016. “We haven’t decided what we’re doing yet, so that’s a good question,” Huelskamp told CQ Roll Call when asked if he was considering a Senate bid. Moran tends to poll the best of any Kansas politician, and he just helped engineer the GOP takeover of the U.S. Senate as chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee. Meanwhile, Huelskamp had a relatively close primary challenge in August from an unknown and unfunded opponent. Nonetheless, Huelskamp thinks he could be competitive. “We’ve done very well with conservatives,” he said. “But now, that’s a long time down the road.” – Phillip Brownlee
