Don’t miss findings of GOP's Benghazi investigation

AP

The GOP-led House Intelligence Committee quietly released Friday afternoon the findings of its two-year investigation into the 2012 terrorist attack on the U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya. Its conclusion shouldn’t be missed: The CIA and the military acted properly in responding to the attack, and there was no wrongdoing by Obama administration appointees. Though the report concluded the compound should have been more secure prior to the attack, it determined that there was no missed opportunity for a military rescue. It also blamed faulty intelligence reports for some inaccurate statements about the attack made initially by Obama officials and concluded that the officials did not intentionally mislead the American people. So does this mean that Republicans will drop their conspiracy claims and righteous indignation? Unlikely. When asked Sunday about the report, Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., told CNN that it was “full of crap.” – Phillip Brownlee
