Opinion Line (Oct. 24)

I watched some of the testimony by Hillary Clinton. It is simply inconceivable that as secretary of state, Clinton had no e-mail contact with an ambassador in one of the most hostile countries in the world.

Talk about history repeating itself: Nero fiddled while Rome burned; now Hillary fiddles while Benghazi burns. Nothing new under the sun.

News flash: During the Benghazi hearings Democrats, for the first time in recorded history, complain about wasting taxpayer money.

During Rep. Mike Pompeo’s questioning of Hillary Clinton, he said, “The folks in Kansas don’t think that is accountability.” I’d like to remind Pompeo that he doesn’t speak for all Kansans – not even all Wichitans. Certainly not this one.

Pompeo basically handed the election to Clinton with his ridiculous questions at the hearing. Hillary made him look foolish.

I can hardly wait for the first big rift between Speaker Paul Ryan and the Freedom Caucus. I just love buttered popcorn.

I can’t believe that Republicans want to nominate Donald Trump when his response to dropping poll numbers in Iowa is to call them brain-damaged.

Ben Carson, Republican candidate for president, has declared that he wants to privatize veterans health care. When veterans really understand this libertarian position, Carson’s poll standing will plummet.

I am looking for a house to buy in Sedgwick County District 4 so that I can vote for Richard Ranzau’s recall from the County Commission. Will pay top dollar.

I am writing this on behalf of several neighbors, my husband and myself in support of Ranzau. These “advocacy networks” are really aggravating. Children of illegals already get too many freebies. We all fed our own children and paid for their schooling.

Breast-feeding 101: Put baby to breast, baby latches on, feed baby. It’s pretty natural. That’s the point. If there are problems, consult a nursing or lactation specialist in the hospital after delivery. At home, get a free consult from a hospital-based breast-feeding clinic or La Leche League. Problem solved.

In big cities, much road construction is accomplished on a 24-hour basis. Wichita drags it out to the extent that it takes three times as long and provides employment for one-third as many workers. Maybe, for economic and convenience purposes, Wichita should try to become a big city.

If the city and county are having cash-flow problems, they should just get traffic cops to issue speeding tickets. Any street in Wichita will do. There is a lot of speeding going on.
