The Keystone XL pipeline is supposed to transport crude from Canada’s oil sands to refineries in the Gulf of Mexico. Canada makes money, and the oil companies make money when they sell the refined products to the highest bidder. How does that morph into energy independence for the U.S.?
It’s apparent the Senate Democrats didn’t pay attention to the voices of the majority during the recent election.
The U.S. does not need “immigration reform,” which is Democrat shorthand for “let’s turn an army of border-crossing criminals into voters who will vote for us.” The U.S. needs to strongly enforce the existing laws and defend its borders.
City Council member Jeff Longwell couldn’t get a 13th Street bridge over I-235 and the Big Ditch where it belongs. Now he’s going to take on economic development as a mayoral candidate. Failure cometh.
Sedgwick County Commissioner Richard Ranzau considers governments to be inefficient when compared with private business. Maybe the reason is that private businesses aren’t run by commissioners.
I worked in all sorts of businesses in my 30-year career, and never once observed their purported efficiency.
With quality public servants Ray Merrick and Virgil Peck wanting to be speaker of the Kansas House, now would be a good time to change the job title to “mouth” of the Kansas House.
House Speaker Ray Merrick said, “Government employees produce nothing.” Does this include the military, police, firefighters, National Guard, etc.? How about the folks who supply him with clean water and put down salt on the roads? All he seems to produce is hot air.
The people of a state vote their conscience that marriage is a union between one man and one woman. Then some liberal judge appointed by a liberal politician can just discount the will of the people? Wrong. Judges, either say something before the voting or forever hold your peace.
Bill Cosby is innocent until proved guilty. It was his word against his accuser’s. Then more jumped on the bandwagon. There are enough accusers now to form a marching band. It is a sad day for America.
Will someone please explain to me what all the weird symbol yard signs are that are spread all around west Wichita? If it’s supposed to be art, let us know. Otherwise, quit putting them out there. They make me think this is an urban version of alien crop circles.
