Former Brownback budget director predicts tax hikes
Gov. Sam Brownback’s former budget director is predicting that the state raise taxes again because the Brownback administration won’t cut enough spending, the Topeka Capital-Journal reported. “Donald Trump is right, although slightly over the top, when he says ‘stupid people’ are running government,” Steve Anderson wrote on Facebook. “Inexperienced and uncommitted individuals were running government in Kansas.” Anderson also complained that “incompetence was overlooked and often rewarded” if a Brownback official were “a member of the close circle of friends and campaign volunteers.” Others contend that Anderson’s comments reflect how he is a “self-righteous zealot.” – Phillip Brownlee
