Leave it to the Republicans to have a front-running candidate who boasts job creation and self-reliance rather than promising government handouts, as the Democratic Party is doing through its top two candidates.

If Donald Trump and his big mouth were elected president, in six months atomic mushroom clouds would be sprouting across the globe.

My impression of Hillary Clinton is she knows that she has the position wrapped up, and that her big organization, supporters and media can and will cover over any transgressions, lies or untruths that she spills forth to the American people.

Clinton suggested we follow the Australian model and confiscate everyone’s guns. I think we should start by disarming her Secret Service detail.

World War II could have been easily prevented if the United States had posted gun-free zone signs on Pearl Harbor.

I see where Kansas is still allowing the TSA to take away guns from law-abiding citizens at Eisenhower Airport. If guns are good for everyone everywhere, why not on airplanes?

The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. Enough with the downtown bike lanes.

The negative comments about bicyclists and the new bike routes are sad. Aggressive drivers can be dangerous to everyone, especially our friends and neighbors who ride. Check your anger.

The most egregious case of fraud related to Kansas elections is the one being perpetrated by Secretary of State Kris Kobach.

Is there any doubt that Kobach will run for governor? All the voters have to do is forget his record of losing cases, his flagrant expenditures of taxpayers’ funds and his seriously stupid witch hunts. But then, this is Kansas.

I’ve seen less gear on half the troops in Afghanistan than on the officer shown on Friday’s front page. When did “protect and serve” become “intimidate and incarcerate”?

I wish all the money our military spends just on public relations went to public schools.
