To further enhance the entertainment value of the presidential campaign, may I suggest that Comedy Central host the debates.

After reading and watching the recent interviews of billionaire Charles Koch, and listening to his concerns about impending “serfdom” and “economic disaster,” I have come to the conclusion that he must have very different definitions of those terms than working folks do.
The minimum-wage debate is not about getting a free ride. It’s about having enough money to cover the basic costs of food, clothing, rent, utilities and transportation. Without this, how do you expect these people to get through college? They can’t do it living in a car.
Of course removing the guns is the answer. Nobody ever heard of a drive-by knifing. Hunting rifles are all we should have ever allowed a “well-regulated militia” to have. But the gun nuts want everything short of a rocket launcher, so welcome to perpetual death America.
A chapel, by definition, is not (just) a place for Christian worship. According to Webster, it is “a subordinate or private place of worship.” Sorry, no particular religion defined.
It appears that the controversy over the Grace Memorial Chapel at WSU has unearthed a serious number of uninformed so-called Christians who are truly in need of a chapel in which to set themselves straight. If ignorance is bliss, these ought to be some very happy people.
When a great coach loses a hard-fought game, he compliments the other team’s members and coaches and accepts full responsibility for the loss. When a bad politician’s plans don’t work out, he blames everyone but himself, spins the facts and uses tax-funded underlings to castigate opponents. Sound familiar?
About a comment advocating to stop abortions by preventing pregnancy: The pro-life goal is to encourage and protect life. Providing contraceptives and birth control to “stop abortions” would be working against our goal: life.

Jesus doesn’t care how many Bible verses you have memorized. He cares about how you treat people, especially people who cannot help you.
