Opinion Line Extra (Nov. 17)
This just in: Thousands of Kansans become experts in earthquakes and fracking.
The people doing the fracking should be the ones paying for the earthquake damage.
Perhaps the earthquakes in the state of Kansas are caused by the weight of the crushing amount of debt created by Gov. Sam Brownback and his tea party loonies.
The U.S. Supreme Court OKs Kansas gay marriage and God creates the largest Kansas earthquake in recent history the very same day. Coincidence? I think not.
A good Republican like Brownback would do the Republican deed by charging Canada $250 million for the Canadian oil flowing through Kansas. That would cover Brownback’s back, Jack.
When the new Legislature convenes in Topeka next year, it should repeal that silly 2005 marriage amendment. It should also put a gag on Kris Kobach and tell our governor to stop practicing voodoo economics.
OK, Sam Brownback, you’ve won re-election. Please prove me wrong in not voting for you, and fix the state’s fiscal deficit without making things worse.
Will the last person to leave Kansas please turn out the lights? You can be part of the $100 million in “efficiencies” that the governor says he will use to balance the budget.
I don’t know why all of our Kansas voters are so concerned about education funding. Our schools are well-funded already and are perfectly fine.
Our great state offers many services (highway maintenance, state troopers, education, etc). I pay state income tax to fund these. My friends and family pay state income tax. Many businesses in Kansas now pay zero state income tax. They must be using different highways and state services.
Jonathan Gruber is right: Everyone who voted for Obama and Obamacare is stupid. But without stupid there would be no Democratic Party.
The national media have handled the story on Jonathan Gruber discussing Obamacare’s passage and the stupidity of the American voter like a case of Ebola. Nobody is touching it.
Your sons and daughters may be “feeling better” due to the medication they received under their Obamacare plan, which they got for a “reasonable cost,” but the problem is that I and other taxpaying Americans are paying an unreasonable portion of the premium.
My wife has an individual health policy. She just got her 2015 renewal notice. The premium is up by 23 percent. Obamacare imposes heavy taxes on the health insurance companies. The Obamacare taxes get passed along in the form of higher premiums. Thank you, Democrats.
Time, energy and money are easily spent attempting to repeal Obamacare a kazillion times, yet nothing is done to prevent the telemarketers’ and scammers’ perpetual invasion of our homes. At least Obamacare is of benefit to those who were previously without insurance. Telemarketers and scammers just waste our breathable air.
