Opinion Line Extra (Nov. 14)

A leading architect of Obamacare, MIT professor Jonathan Gruber, said that Democrats misled the public in order to pass it. He went on to say the stupidity of the American voter was critical for it to pass – well, of slightly over half of the voters anyway.

A video has surfaced with Obamacare’s architect saying that the selling points for the ACA were known to be fraudulent from the very beginning. Democrat treachery has been revealed yet again.

I can’t think of anything more unpleasant than to have a drink with Mitch McConnell, Kentucky bourbon or not. I’d have to chug the whole bottle.

Wow – Kansas, the red state, votes to continue to be red. Why don’t you Democrats figure it out and move away and quit whining?

I cannot believe that all the incumbents have been re-elected. Yes, even Kris Kobach, which makes no sense at all. And Pat Roberts, who showed during his last debate just what a spiteful person he really is. What’s the matter with Kansas?

OK, Pat Roberts and Mike Pompeo, you got my vote. Now show some character and repeal the section of Obamacare that allows exemptions for certain groups. I’ll be watching and urge others to do so.

Kansas gets what it deserves. Well, at least the Republicans will now have to actually govern this country. By 2016, people will be sick of them and ready for a different party.

How could the polls have been so wrong? I smell a rat. Three of them.

Imagine what Kansas government would be like if the Koch brothers were liberals.

So maybe the Democrats should demand a new election in the Kansas Senate race because they did not have a candidate on the ballot.

First on my list for cuts in our Kansas budget: Kris Kobach’s generous budget. Freeze expense budgets for the governor and all state departments and legislators. No raises or increases in benefits. Limit the use of the governor’s private plane. No taxpayer-paid perks.

I suspect that by this time next year, poll takers will have a tough time finding anyone who will admit to having voted to re-elect Sam Brownback.

Maybe Common Core math isn’t any good if teachers unions think spending $80 million in the recent election to get nothing was worth it.

The Kansas City Star’s Lewis Diuguid called for more mental health spending (Nov. 10 Opinion). In Kansas it’ll be cut. We’ll be semi-broke next year. And rather than repeal their silly tax cuts, Republicans like Rep. John Rubin say they’ll cut spending. That means cuts for mental health and anything else that matters.

Davis Merritt recently wrote a column headlined, “Fundamental rights supersede majority rule.” What if God’s rules supersede ours and He has the last word?
