What gives any judge, Supreme Court or otherwise, the power to overrule the will of the people?
I would like to see a bill passed in the Kansas Legislature for “some-sex marriage.”
Global warming is about as likely as a 4.8 earthquake hitting Wichita – oh, frack.
The fracking earthquakes in Oklahoma are heading north. Don’t forget the Anthony-Harper quakes. The 4.8 quake felt in Wichita ought to scare the people of Hutchinson. Salt mining and the world-famous underground storage area are in jeopardy.
In place of the failed 1 percent sales tax, Wichita could collect money by enforcing the Kellogg speed limit. Fine everyone who drives 5 mph or more above the speed limit and the city would take in enough money to pave the entire state.
Fear not, Wichita. I know where you can get the money for streets, water and buses – from the same magic fairy who gave you a quarter million dollars to squander on renaming our airport.
If the city and county want me to vote “yes” on tax increases, they need to send some economic development to south Wichita instead of sending it east, west and north. And quit calling south Wichita a blight on the city and county.
As a poll worker at the election, I was deeply disturbed to see many voters vote from a list prepared by Kansas for Life. They were being blindly obedient to the organization and not thinking for themselves. Is mind control the new politics?
Kansas: Brownback destroys your economy and you ask for more? That’s just a special kind of something.
Which will happen first: Kansas filing for bankruptcy? Or Kansas increasing the sales tax, which will shift the tax burden from the rich to the poor?
Leave Obamacare alone. My daughter feels good, after years of sickness and suicidal thoughts, thanks to the care and meds she got for a thyroid condition. She got a plan, no deductible, for a reasonable cost. All hail Obamacare.
So Obamacare was passed with “stupid” voters (and a plan to keep them in the dark); a Congress that did not read the bill; and Nancy Pelosi, who told us we had to pass the bill to figure out what was in it. What could possibly go wrong?
Repeal Obamacare and start over, with lawsuit reform first.
